Direct Connection (DC) Nebulizer

The DC nebulizer is our latest design. It has a UniFit sample connector that slides easily over the sample arm and an argon connector configured to connect directly to your ICP.

Resists blockage

The sample channel is uniform from the entry point to the tip, so there is nowhere for particulates to be trapped.

DC Nebulizer Video Installation Guide

As a means to further assist your laboratory, we have organized this installation guide video. Our video highlights the step-by-step procedure to properly install the SeaSpray DC nebulizer on an Agilent® 5000 Series ICP-OES. Although each DC nebulizer is designed to suit a specific ICP model, the installation and removal procedures for all DC nebulizers are very similar.

 
 

Gas Line Ordering Information

DC versions of the SeaSpray, MicroMist, Conikal, Slurry, DuraMist, OpalMist and VeeSpray nebulizers are available to suit the most common models of ICP-OES and ICP-MS. The glass DC nebulizers use the inert PEEK gas connector, part number 70-803-1096. The DC nebulizer part number has a prefix specific to each type of gas connector. For example, the prefix “A13-“ denotes a connector for the Agilent 5000 Series ICP-OES, so part number A13-07-USS2, is a SeaSpray nebulizer configured for direct connection to the Agilent 5000 Series. See Understanding Glass Expansion nebulizer part numbers for a full list of available DC nebulizers, or Choose a Nebulizer to suit your ICP to see the DC nebulizers for your particular ICP model.

The EzyLok Argon Connector

The EzyLok argon connector is used with all glass concentric nebulizers except for the DC nebulizers. The EzyLok connection is made with our specially formed nebulizer side arm, which allows it to be pushed and locked securely into the popular 'One Touch Fitting' which incorporates a flexible O-ring seal. To disconnect the nebulizer, simply push on the release button located at the top of the fitting.

The benefits of the EzyLok Argon Connector are:
  • Eliminates bonding of argon supply tube to nebulizer side arm
  • Suitable for Glass Expansion's glass nebulizers which have the EzyLok side arm
  • Can be used with 4mm nylon tubing or standard 6mm soft tubing

The Nexus™ Universal Connection Kit is a one-size-fits-all nebulizer connection kit that enables you to use any1,2 of Glass Expansion's industry-leading concentric nebulizers with the sample introduction configuration of your choice, including switching valves, chromatographs (LC, HPLC, IC, etc.), and other high-performance accessories.

Product Overview:

These easy-to-install kits are completely inert and configured for 1.6 mm (1/16") OD tubing, with PTFE ferrules that reliably seal with all commonly used capillary tubing materials, such as PFA, PTFE, FEP and PEEK. They provide a secure, zero-dead-volume direct connection to the liquid interface of a Glass Expansion nebulizer.

FT-16-8 is compatible with Glass Expansion's glass concentric nebulizers1, which include the Conikal, MicroMist, MicroMist HE, SeaSpray, and Slurry.

1The FT-16-8 Nexus™ Universal Nebulizer Connection Kit is designed specifically for all glass U-Series nebulizers. It is not compatible with the older EzyFit nebulizers.

FT-16-8-X was specifically designed for use with inert nebulizers2, which includes the DuraMist and OpalMist.

For a quick custom-length connection to your existing switching valve, use P/N 70-803-1870 or 70-803-1871 in combination with the Nexus Universal Connection Kit. A 700mm length capillary tubing, in 0.25mm ID or 0.5mm ID that can be cut to your desired length with a 1/4-28 fitting and ferrule included, sold in pack of 3 (compatible with most high through put valves on the market).

For connecting nebulizers to your Nexus™ Universal Nebulizer Connection Kit when using the HE-SIS, the Sample Connecting Line Assembly, P/N 70-803-2112, is most commonly used due to the very low sample flow rates used in single-cell, single-particle, and nano-particle applications.
