The Easy Way to Improve Accuracy and Precision of ICP Measurement
In-line addition of internal standards and ionization buffers provides an efficient means of accurately and precisely dosing all of your samples without extra effort or the risk of error or contamination. Internal standardization (IS) is often used to compensate for physical and mass-space interferences in ICP spectrometry. It can also enhance short-term and long-term reproducibility.
The Trident CT™ from Glass Expansion is the simple, easy, and error-free way to continuously add internal standards or ionization buffers in ICP spectrometry. The Trident CT™ mixing chamber uses ConstantTorque™ (CT) technology to provide a simple-to-use, leak-free connection for both the internal standard and sample, every time.
PRODUCT FEATURES
Trident CT Features
- Compact, efficient mixing chamber ensures the complete mixing of the sample and reagent.
- CT ratchet fittings for a durable, leak-free seal on all connections.
- Zero dead volume connections.
- Completely modular kit so that damaged or lost components can easily be replaced.

Durable, Repeatable, Leak-Free ConstantTorque™ Connections
The use of inert, metal-free, CT ratchet fittings on the inlet and outlet of the Trident mixing chamber provides simple-to-use, leak-free connections for the internal standard and sample, every time. With other mixing chambers, worn or improperly fitted connections leak, injecting a stream of air bubbles into the nebulizer flow, which degrades short-term analytical precision (%RSD). By using CT ratchet-style fittings, the Trident CT eliminates air leaks, optimizing analytical performance.
Internal standardization (IS) is commonly used in ICP spectrometry to compensate for:
- Variations in sample uptake rates from differences in viscosity or total dissolved solids of your samples.
- Mass-space charge interferences in ICP-MS.
- Internal standardization enhances long-term stability and can improve analytical accuracy.
